Pathway to Partnership With Mission Discipleship

Another important document has been approved at a General Assembly, the policy statement of a Worldwide Ministries Division that was entitled as “Do Missions in Partnership.” The partnership is intrinsic to the Trinitarian nature of God and the incarnation of mission. Everybody should take part in God’s task in partnership with the Lord , with the agencies and the partner churches from around the world and with our hurting world. Shifting beyond the ingrained paternalistic outline to equal 2-way missions and the authentic partnership is the challenge before us. Six essential mission attitudes on pathway to partnership of basic discipleship: 1. Humility - the mission now should start with the recognition, the repentance and the abandonment of the attitudes of pride, condescension, superiority and arrogance. What is Causing so Many Young People to Abandon Their Faith?

Young people are abandoning their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord in unprecedented numbers. A lack of genuine biblical discipleship during their formative years and beyond may be the primary cause. People who have not been raised in the ways of Christ and who do not really know Him will reject Him, and He will eventually reject them as well.  According to a survey conducted by the Barna Group, only about 1% of young people in the United States have a biblical perspective. A Side-by-Side Comparison of Discipleship and Apostleship

Being a follower of Jesus is what it means to be a disciple. Being an apostle entails being a sender, or a messenger. A disciple is a learner under another Christian who has been on their path with God longer than you have. An apostle is one who delivers those teachings to others, whereas discipleship  is learning under another Christian who has been on their walk with God longer than you have. Apostleship: A Definition In Biblical words, an apostle is a plenipotentiary or representative of his lord. The apostle would be someone who talks on behalf of his master, the person he represents. God chose a group of individuals to create the basis for the church and a guarantee that the New Testament was written. Pastors and instructors at the church today wield power, but not to the same extent as the apostles of old. When Judas died and committed suicide in the New Testament, the apostles got together to see if they could find a successor for him. Discipleship: A Definition A d...
